Manado (ANTARA) - Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said the national education digitalization project aims to build a digital learning ecosystem in schools by providing supporting devices and infrastructure.“The key components of this national strategic project include the provision of smartphones, laptops, content storage devices (external hard disk drives), satellite internet access, and solar panels for schools not yet connected to the internet or electricity,” he said during a working visit to Manado, North Sulawesi, on Friday.
He said the national strategic project also includes providing quality learning content through the Ministry's existing digital platforms.
According to Abdul Mu'ti, the initiative is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority to accelerate education transformation.

“This year, education digitalization may involve more than 288,000 educational institutions across Indonesia,” he stated.
He said the government also continues to improve welfare, competence and qualifications.
"This year we are holding Teacher Professional Education or PPG for more than 600,000 teachers," he said.

Education assistance has also been provided to 150,000 teachers in D4/S1 programs, with support of up to Rp3 million (about US$179.38) per semester, while next year the number of teachers participating in the PPG is planned to reach more than 808,000.
