Jakarta (ANTARA) - A special ceremony to bid farewell will be held for President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) after he attends a leadership handover ceremony with President-elect Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on October 20.

"Yes, of course, there will be some kind of procession, a farewell ceremony, at the palace. There will be some troops (stationed)," Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono told the media at the palace on Friday.

Hartono revealed that based on the plan, President Jokowi will first attend the inauguration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the eighth president and 14th vice president at the Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, on the same day.

He noted that the head of state would then return to the Presidential Palace to prepare to welcome his successor in a handover ceremony before receiving the farewell procession and leaving for his hometown of Solo, Central Java.
