Mataram (ANTARA) - Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Lalu Muhamad Iqbal confirmed that the province remains safe and conducive, ensuring that both national and international events scheduled throughout 2025 will take place as planned.
Iqbal stated that Lombok, Sumbawa, and the wider NTB region are in a secure and stable condition, supported by joint efforts of the provincial government, security forces, religious leaders, and local communities.
“NTB continues to provide a safe, secure, and conducive environment for all visitors. Therefore, all events scheduled in 2025 will proceed as planned,” Iqbal said in Mataram on Friday.
Among the upcoming events, he highlighted the Pocari Sweat Run 2025 scheduled for September 13–14, and the highly anticipated Mandalika MotoGP 2025 which will bring the world’s top riders from October 3–5.
The governor expressed appreciation to the police, Indonesian Armed Forces, religious leaders, community figures, NGOs, youth groups, and local government officials down to village and neighborhood heads for their role in maintaining security and public order.
He also extended gratitude to the people of NTB for their continued support and wisdom in responding to recent developments, emphasizing their contribution to ensuring the province remains safe and comfortable for domestic and international visitors.
Earlier this year, NTB successfully hosted several international and national events, including the Paragliding Accuracy World Cup (PGAWC) in Central Lombok, the Indonesia World Field Archery (IWFA) in Lantan, the Eighth National Community Sports Festival (FORNAS VIII), and the Rinjani Color Run in East Lombok.
“These achievements reaffirm NTB’s reputation as a reliable host for national and international events,” Iqbal noted.
