Indonesia's Hajj team reviews services for pilgrims at Saudi hospitals

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Hajj health team said that its members visited three Saudi Arabian hospitals to directly check the condition of pilgrims undergoing treatment at the facilities.The visit was part of the team's commitment to ensuring optimal health services for pilgrims.

In a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday, the head of Medina working area (Daker), Dr. Novitasari Nurlalila Bahramsyah, explained that the visit was a form of the state's presence in ensuring the quality of services and emotional support for sick pilgrims.

"There are three things that are done through the visiting, first, communicating with medical and paramedical personnel who are treating the pilgrims to update their health conditions. Second, providing attention to patients and their families," she said.

Third, providing psychological support to the pilgrims so that they feel calm and comfortable, she added. According to the statement, the visit was carried out on Sunday.

As per the same statement, on the same day, the Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic (KKHI) team in Medina, led by Dr. Rohayat Bilmahdi, visited King Fahad Hospital, King Salman Hospital, and Mouwasat Hospital.

Bilmahdi said that his team observed and provided assistance to eight Indonesian Hajj pilgrims admitted at the hospitals.

"Doctors and health workers from the three Saudi Arabian hospitals have handled the Indonesian Hajj pilgrim patients well. These patients require intensive follow-up treatment," he added.

According to Bilmahdi, the visit involved more than just clinical monitoring since it was also an opportunity to provide encouragement to the pilgrims.

"We talked to the pilgrims who were being treated by providing moral support, so that they do not feel alone and keep spirit to be healthy," he said.
