Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has emphasized the importance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program in efforts to instill healthy living habits from an early age.He made the statement while reviewing the implementation of the MBG program at a public junior high school in Indramayu, West Java, on Friday.
According to a statement received on Friday, Gibran said that the program is not merely about providing meals, but is a long-term investment in building a healthy, intelligent, and resilient generation.
He affirmed that the success of the MBG program depends on collaboration between the central government, regional governments, schools, and other stakeholders to ensure the program is not only implemented, but also sustainable and well-targeted.
Furthermore, he said that the implementation of the program is a part of President Prabowo Subianto's broader vision to develop high-quality and competitive human resources in Indonesia.

He further noted that the program would not only help fulfill the current nutritional needs of schoolchildren, but also lay a strong foundation for the nation's future progress.
During his visit, the Vice President was seen interacting directly with teachers and students.

He listened attentively to the school principal's report regarding the implementation of the MBG program at the school, including the food production and distribution processes.
He also interacted with students as they enjoyed their meal, which included rice, stir-fried mixed vegetables, fried chicken, bananas, and a packet of fresh milk.
