Mataram, NTB (ANTARA) - The Mataram City Regional Hospital (RSUD), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province, has been designated as the referral hospital for officials and spectators attending the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP.

The racing event will be held from March 18 to March 20, 2022.

"Our task during the implementation of the 2022 MotoGP will be similar to the one we performed for the World Superbike (WSBK) event in November 2021,” director of the hospital, Ni Ketut Eka Nurhayati, informed here on Wednesday after attending a coordination meeting at the mayor's office.

Meanwhile, riders will be referred to the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Hospital, she said.

Medical preparations for the 2022 MotoGP have been easier since the medical team of around 25 personnel deployed for the event has been specially trained, she added.

"Insya Allah (if God wills), we are ready to optimize our medical team to succeed the implementation of MotoGP. Moreover, we have gained a lot of experience while being on duty for the 2021 WSBK," she remarked.

The work of the medical team during the 2021 WSBK, which took place from November 19 to November 21, 2021, was considered to be quite good since it was able to provide quick and proper treatment to spectators and riders, she noted.

It was one of the commitments of the team, she said.

"Security specialist of Dorna Sports, Fernando Arandiga, lauded the work of the medical team at 2021 WSBK. He also commended the team (members) who had stayed at their respective posts despite heavy rain and strong winds," the director of Mataram city RSUD stated.

However, there are still a lot of things that need to be completed regarding the infrastructure, especially in areas outside the circuit, to make the venue safer and more comfortable, she added.

"We are proud and grateful that 2021 WSBK was successfully implemented in our province. Thus, it has become our motivation to strive for providing better services in the future," Nurhayati remarked.
