"Formally, we will send out letters to the ambassadors, including to a foreign trade official of Taiwan, who had attended the anniversary of West Lombok yesterday," Head of the West Lombok Tourism Office Ispan Junaidi remarked here on Friday.
He stated that the effort to promote "Mekaki Marathon," to be held in October 2018, will also utilize social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to reach all countries.
Massive promotion is necessary, as the local community in Sekotong, which is the center of the implementation of "Mekaki Marathon," is still relatively limited.
Junaidi stated that efforts to promote "Mekaki Marathon" are being carried out gradually on an ongoing basis. The first year of this event held in 2017 was still promoted and followed by thousands of runners. There is an increase in terms of the quality of implementation in 2018.
Meanwhile, event organizer of ArchiSS Jakarta Juria Ambar Haruni, as one of the organizers of the "Mekaki Marathon," confirmed that the promotion also involves several national and local media partners.
She remarked that several famous public figures in Jakarta were contacted to participate in helping to promote the West Lombok District in order to increase tourist visits.
"Some of the public figures we will invite include Farah Quinn, while last year, we had invited Chicco Jerikho, Wulan Guritno, and Julia Estelle," she added. (*)
