Jakarta (ANTARA) - Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (Indonesia-EAEU FTA) is intended to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).He said the agreement offers significant business opportunities and urged Indonesian exporters to swiftly take advantage of the facilities provided under the FTA.

“This agreement will provide legal certainty and transparency for the business community, making the trade environment more predictable and conducive. In addition, the Indonesian government will ensure that the implementation of the agreement is carried out effectively, transparently, and in a manner that supports businesses, including micro, small and medium enterprises,” said Santoso in a statement on Tuesday.

He added that the increasingly open Eurasian Economic Union market is expected to attract Indonesian businesses. Importers in the region will find it easier to bring Indonesian products into the EAEU market, with the potential to expand to neighboring regions such as Central Asia.

Budi also emphasized that Indonesia and the Eurasian Economic Union have agreed to position economic cooperation as a key pillar by promoting collaboration across various strategic sectors, including agriculture, industry, energy, transportation, logistics, the digital economy, and the development of sustainable value chains.
