Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government aims to complete around 6,900 bridges by 2026, focusing on remote areas that still face limited access to river crossings. The target was conveyed by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi after attending a cabinet retreat in Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday.

Prasetyo said the bridge construction has drawn President Prabowo Subianto’s attention as it concerns basic public access, including routes used by children to reach schools. He noted that 11 suspension bridges have been completed so far, while another 50 are still under construction and will continue to be pursued until 2026.
