Mataram (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry will support the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia or the 2022 MotoGP Series in Mandalika, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), by optimizing 16 weak signal points in Lombok.

"To support the 2022 MotoGP series in Mandalika, we will improve the signal quality at 16 weak signal points in Lombok," Head of the NTB Communication and Informatics Service Najamuddin Amy noted in a written statement on Friday.

Amy later confirmed that his side had also provided a series of qualified telecommunications network infrastructure and also supporting facilities for journalists' work in broadcasting information regarding the MotoGP series, in the form of a media center.

One of the improvements in the quality of the telecommunications network has been started since last week carried out by PT Telkomsel.

"Hence, the 5G network, especially in the Mandalika Circuit, has been optimized," he noted.

Furthermore, Amy noted that the MotoGP series brought improvements in terms of the quality of the telecommunications network in Lombok.

Moreover, from a series of telecommunications network infrastructure development that began in 2019, the blank spot area has now disappeared, especially in Lombok Island, Amy stated.

"Hence, we are grateful that there are no more blank spots in Lombok," he stated.

Amy affirmed that his side is currently committed to improving the quality of telecommunication networks with support from the state-owned telecommunications company.

These efforts encompass the installation of fiber optic networks, electronic devices, and combat mobile base transceiver stations that support the availability of qualified telecommunications networks.

During the 2022 MotoGP series in Mandalika, which starts on Friday, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has coordinated with the NTB provincial government.

On Friday morning, the Director-General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Informatics Technology from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Ismail met the NTB governor to optimize the quality of telecommunications network during the 2022 MotoGP Series in Mandalika, Central Lombok.
