Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) has communicated the fundamental developments related to the advancement and enforcement of human rights in Indonesia to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, in Geneva, Switzerland.
"This includes informing about the resolution of various cases that have attracted the public's attention and the challenges that we are encountering," the commission's chairman, Ahmad Taufan Damanik, informed in a written statement issued on Thursday.
In addition to discussing issues such as the human rights situation in Indonesia, the two institutions also discussed the Papua peaceful dialogue initiative proposed by the commission.

Komnas HAM believes that the Papua peaceful dialogue can be realized while hoping many more parties provide their support to the existing initiative, he informed. “The Papua peaceful dialogue initiative is done as an effort to resolve various human rights issues in Papua," he said.
