The State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN RB) Ministry is working swiftly to devise scenarios for the transfer of civil servants and security personnel to Indonesia's new capital (IKN) Nusantara in East Kalimantan.
"We are following up on President Joko Widodo's instruction last week, when he ordered the PAN RB Ministry to formulate comprehensive scenarios for the relocation of civil servants," PAN RB Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas said in a statement received from the ministry here on Monday.
Proper scenarios are crucial to ensure that the government continues to work in a productive manner in spite of the relocation process, he added.
For devising the scenarios, he informed, the ministry is coordinating with several institutions, including the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, National Development Planning Ministry, State Secretariat Ministry, Home Affairs Ministry, and Finance Ministry.
He said that the ministry is also synergizing with security and defense institutions, such as the Ministry of Defense, National Armed Forces (TNI), and National Police (Polri).
According to Anas, such coordination is vital to determine the exact number of apparatus to be transferred to IKN Nusantara from each institution and to synchronize the numbers with those of dedicated residences being built in the new capital.
"We are coordinating with ministries and institutions to figure out the exact numbers of talents needed to immediately work at IKN Nusantara," he explained.
He said that the President has also tasked his ministry with giving opportunities to fresh graduates to fill positions at ministries and other institutions in Nusantara.
"The President has demanded that we prepare job formations for fresh graduates — not only for the OIKN, but also for all ministries and institutions to be relocated to IKN Nusantara," he expounded.

Anas further said that the PAN RB Ministry has been working to ensure effective governance in Nusantara by preparing the implementation of an integrated electronic-based government system.
"We are striving to pave the way for the actualization of an integrated governance system, including by preparing Indonesia's Government Technology Agency (GovTech)," he added.
