Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked delegates attending the 2024 Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) to help bring about more sustainable and inclusive global development."First of all, I invite global leaders to optimize international cooperation in the green technology sector," he said at the 2024 ISF gala dinner here on Thursday.

He affirmed that with the support of all countries, both in terms of technicalities and financing, the global transition to a low-carbon economy can be realized more justly and equitably.

VP Amin also emphasized the need for synergy while formulating inclusive and equitable global policy initiatives.

"The initiatives must guarantee the equitable distribution of sustainable economic development, especially for vulnerable communities," he expounded.

He called for expanding the role of international financial institutions in financing green projects in developing countries.

According to him, easy access to financing and schemes would significantly contribute to sustainable and environmentally friendly economic growth.

"Hopefully, this activity will produce real solutions that carry the international community toward just and prosperous lives," he said.

The 2024 ISF is a platform for leaders from across sectors to exchange ideas, insights, and best practices, and provide solutions to deal with climate change.

While opening the forum, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that it is a place to share experiences and resources for tackling climate change.

In his speech, he urged the world to trust Indonesia's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions and making greater contributions to the international community.
