Mataram, W Nusa Tenggara, (Antara) - The US Agency for International Development (USAID) is providing capacity building training for the officers of Regional Disaster Management Agency in Bima district to reduce disasters in West Nusa Tenggara.

"USAID`s training program from March 18-19, 2015, focuses on the adaptation and mitigation of climate change and the reduction of disaster risks," Bima district government spokesman Muzakkir said here on.

The agency aims to advance the political and economic interests of the United States through its programs, and the products and services of the US are used to this end.

USAID works worldwide to democratize development processes by involving people in decision-making processes that can contribute to the greater sustainability of their countries and communities.

Muzakkir noted that climate change over the past few years has had a broad impact on societies as well as governments. (*)
