Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Industry is hoping to create excellent small and medium industries and expand the export market through its One Village One Product (OVOP) program.

Director general of small, medium, and various industries at the ministry, Reni Yanita, said here on Thursday that the program could improve the capacity of small and medium industry players through mentoring, easy market access, and fulfillment of the necessary regulations and standards.

"OVOP is an approach to develop potential in one region to produce a unique global class product that is typical to the region by utilizing local resources," she added

She informed that the ministry has carried out the OVOP program since 2007, which was strengthened by the issuance of the Industry Minister's Regulation Number 14 of 2021.
