Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon officially opened the Noken Festival, which aims to celebrate the richness and diversity of Indonesian culture, in Jakarta on Friday. In his opening speech, Zon emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage as a bridge between generations, a connector of traditions, and a source of inspiration for the future.

"This festival is not merely a celebration but a milestone in Indonesian cultural progress. With this, we also mark international recognition of our cultural heritage," he stated.

He added that the Noken Festival, held over three days at the Sarinah Building in Jakarta, serves as a platform to promote the intangible culture recognized by UNESCO.

During the festival, the Ministry of Culture will showcase the traditional arts of Noken that embody the values of sustainability and ecological awareness.

Zon noted that Noken culture currently faces preservation challenges.

He expressed hope that cross-sector collaboration will support the preservation and development of the Noken culture for the benefit of the community.
