Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta provincial government is monitoring schools in nine sub-districts that are conducting distance learning during the 43rd ASEAN Summit, which is taking place in the capital from September 4 to 7, 2023.
"Distance learning has been underway since yesterday, and we are monitoring it daily," said Purwosusilo, the acting head of the Jakarta Education Office, on Tuesday. He mentioned that education officials in the sub-districts are ensuring that distance learning is implemented smoothly.
The nine sub-districts implementing online learning during the ASEAN Summit are Palmerah (151 schools), Gambir (109), Menteng (98), Tanah Abang (124), Sawah Besar (119), Senen (107), Kebayoran Baru (171), Mampang Prapatan (127), and Setiabudi (102).

"After the ASEAN Summit ends on September 8, the schools will return to their regular routines," Purwosusilo stated. Jakarta's Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, previously explained that the online learning policy aims to help reduce congestion around the ASEAN Summit venues.
