Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has stressed that all forms of corruption must be eliminated in Indonesia. He made the statement at the 2024 National Teacher's Day summit held here on Thursday.
"I give a warning that corruption must stop in the Republic of Indonesia," he thundered, pumping his right hand for emphasis.
Prabowo also emphasized that there will be no tolerance for government officials found indulging in corruption during his leadership term.
"The Red and White Cabinet, the government that I lead, will have zero tolerance for corruption, theft, and misappropriation. Stop! Stop! Stop!" he said.
He added that corruption, online gambling, smuggling, all kinds of manipulation, fraud, and fraudulent practices have resulted in the loss of national wealth. He stressed that his administration is determined to fix this problem.

"I have seen the numbers and worked hard with the ministers. We have a strategy, and I believe we can fix this," Prabowo stated.
To the teachers who attended the event, Prabowo said that the government has increased the budget allocation for their welfare. He said that the government is looking to do its best for the advancement of education in the country.

"Therefore, I ask for the teachers to be patient. I ask for the teachers' trust in us," he added.
On the same occasion, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said that the president's presence at the National Teacher's Day summit was proof of the government's commitment to advancing national education.
