Four pillars of improvement in Indonesia's education roadmap

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Fajar Riza Ul Haq in a seminar on Friday (December 13) explained about the "Indonesia's Education Roadmap Towards Golden Indonesia 2045."

"The capital towards Golden Indonesia 2045 is how we pay attention to and develop what we have today," he said in a seminar held at the West Sumatra Muhammadiyah University.

In the ministry's statement received here on Sunday, he said that the country must make a leap in the education sector, with the central government as the driving force, and regional governments as the supporters.

Haq said that there are at least four pillars that must be improved according to the Indonesia's education roadmap. The first is equitable access to education, where there should be no social inequality in the field of education. He emphasized that all Indonesian citizens have the equal right to education.

The second pillar is quality and holistic education. Haq explained that access to education must also be of high quality and have a positive impact in the community. He said that his side will focus on the second pillar in the next five years.

"The third pillar is to make education (implementation) relevant to educational goals. In this case, we must be able to predict (relevant) science by analyzing people's behavior and technological developments," he added.

The last pillar is to create accountable education governance and involve the community as actors who build the education sector.

Furthermore, Haq also highlighted the importance of character education development. He explained that the government also continues to develop emotional, social, and spiritual intelligence.
