Ambon (ANTARA) - The government has built an Integrated Hajj and Umrah Service Center (PLHUT) in Buru District, Maluku Province, to improve pilgrimage services for local residents.
“This center is clear proof of our commitment to providing the best service, especially for future Hajj and Umrah pilgrims,” Maluku Deputy Governor Abdullah Vanath said in a written statement on Sunday.
He explained that the facility serves as a one-stop center where pilgrims can register, verify personal data, prepare documents, and pay the Hajj Pilgrimage Cost (BPIH) deposit through designated banks.
The center also offers manasik (pilgrimage guidance), consultations, and complaint services to ensure pilgrims receive accurate and timely information.
Using an integrated system, the facility coordinates all stages -- from registration and preparation to departure and return -- allowing services to be delivered efficiently, accurately, and transparently.
Previously, pilgrims from Buru District had to process their documents through the Ministry of Religious Affairs office in Ambon City.

Vanath expressed hope that the center will reduce bureaucracy, streamline services, and make the process faster, easier, and more affordable.
“I call on all stakeholders, including the Ministry of Religious Affairs, local governments, religious leaders, and the community, to work together to ensure the success of this facility,” he said.

The center is expected to be a strategic step in improving the quality of Hajj and Umrah services in Maluku, particularly for residents of Buru District.
