Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, emphasized that connectivity is a crucial pillar for the growth of Indonesia’s tourism sector.

“There are several pillars of tourism: attractions, accommodation, and connectivity,” Marthini said on Monday.

She explained that connectivity plays a vital role in facilitating public mobility and boosting economic growth within the tourism sector. Marthini encouraged strategic collaboration among stakeholders, including the government, transportation industry, and related business players, to strengthen Indonesia’s tourism network.

“If connectivity between countries or between islands is weak, it is impossible for us to achieve our tourism goals,” she added.

According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), domestic tourist movements in November 2025 reached 96.45 million trips, a 0.47 percent increase from the previous month. Compared with November 2024, domestic tourism rose 19.64 percent.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism reported that 13.98 million foreign tourists visited Indonesia from January to November 2025. This represented a 10.44 percent increase from the same period in 2024, when 12.66 million visits were recorded. The majority of foreign visitors came from Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, China, and Timor Leste.

Tourists are key drivers of the economy, directly supporting businesses across sectors such as food and beverage, hospitality, and transportation.
