Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chief of the Presidential Staff (KSP) Moeldoko cautioned that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would be displeased if the 2023-2024 National Strategy for Corruption Prevention (Stranas PK) activities were to only be ceremonial in nature.
"The president does not like it (only ceremonial actions), so I ask the ministries and agencies and local governments that have signed the commitment to prevent corruption today to immediately share the information with their officials," Moeldoko stated at the signing of the Stranas PK commitment here on Wednesday.
He pressed for corruption prevention actions to be fresh and real in solving concrete problems in society. Preventive actions should be taken against illegal levies in basic public services, such as in education, health, and population administration affairs, he emphasized. "The complaint channels of illegal levies and corruption must be strengthened," he emphasized.
According to Moeldoko, corruption prevention actions must be related to efforts to increase the Corruption Perception Index (CPI), Government Effectiveness Index, and Anti-Corruption Behavior Index. "I convey that the president is not happy with our CPI achievements, and he has instructed various corrective measures to be implemented immediately," Moeldoko stressed.
The KSP chief drew attention to President Jokowi's five directives regarding corruption prevention actions that should be taken by the government.

The five directives are strengthening the corruption prevention system, cracking down on major corruption cases, professionalism of law enforcement officers, asset tracing and asset recovery, and reinforcing anti-corruption regulations, especially the Asset Forfeiture Bill. "We do not have much time. The public is waiting. The people are expecting our brave move," Moeldoko stated. Stranas PK is a national policy that encompasses the focus and targets of the government and other stakeholders in implementing corruption preventive actions.
According to KSP, since the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 54 of 2018 concerning Stranas PK, the corruption prevention system has been more focused, measurable, and impactful. This is apparent from the improvement in the Integrated Social Welfare Database (DTKS) on the citizens' identity card numbers (NIK) that saved the state Rp1.79 trillion (US$115.8 million) through accurate disbursal of social assistance.
