Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka urged all members of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) to remain united and set aside sectoral egos to ensure successful development.

He made these remarks at the closing of the 2024 National Coordination Meeting of the Central and Regional Governments held at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) in Bogor, West Java, on Thursday.

“We must be united, with no more sectoral egos. Forkopimda must work as one; regional leaders must cooperate with neighboring regencies and cities. Once again, I emphasize this,” he said.

“All of you are elected officials entrusted to manage a country as large as Indonesia. Teamwork is essential,” he added.

Gibran cited several regions that have successfully driven economic growth.

“For economic growth, West Papua is remarkable, particularly due to liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. This is extraordinary,” he said.

He also highlighted Central Sulawesi’s strong economic growth from nickel production and Maluku’s economic gains from agriculture and trade.

Gibran reiterated the government’s 8 percent economic growth target under President Prabowo Subianto's leadership.

“So, you all have to work hard,” he concluded.
