Jakarta (ANTARA) - Titiek Puspa, sosok maestro musik Indonesia, pernah berkolaborasi dengan grup rock legendaris asal Jerman, Scorpions. Bersama James Sundah, mereka menciptakan lagu "When You Came Into My Life" (1996) yang menjadi bagian dari album Scorpions bernama "Pure Instinct".
Kolaborasi antara Titiek Puspa dan Scorpions bermula pada tahun 1990 dalam sebuah acara "East Meets West Festival" yang digelar di Bali.
Dalam pertemuan tersebut, Titiek Puspa dan James Sundah bertemu Klaus Meine (vokalis Scorpions) serta Rudolf Schenker (gitaris Scorpions). Pertemuan mereka berujung pada ide berkolaborasi menciptakan sebuah lagu.
Proses penciptaan lagu ini melibatkan diskusi musisi legendaris antarnegara terkait melodi, lirik, dan makna yang ingin disampaikan melalui lagu ini.
Album "Pure Instinct" dikenal dengan tema romantisnya yang berbeda dari gaya rock biasanya dan menjadi ciri khas Scorpions.
"When You Came Into My Life" menjadi salah satu lagu yang paling populer dari album tersebut karena keindahan liriknya dan melodi yang berhasil menyentuh hati pendengarnya. Alunan piano dari Luke Herzog dan permainan gitar Mathias Jabs, semakin menambah nuansa khas pada lagu ini.
