Mataram, W Nusa Tenggara, May 23 (Antara) - At least 18 tourist vessels from various countries are scheduled to visit Lombok in the first half of the year, the state-owned port operator Pelindo III said.
"There are 18 cruise ships already scheduled . We hope there are more in the second semester of the year," General Manager of the West Lombok branch of Pelindo III Baharuddin said here on Monday.
Last year , 26 cruise ships landed on the West Lombok port of Lambar with 36,000 tourists from various countries, Baharuddin said.
This year the number of tourist boats to land on the island of Lombok, just across Bali is expected to increase, he said.
"The trend has been on the increase. So far there has been no notification of cancellation by the 18 cruisers," he said.
According to schedule, the foreign tourists would visit various tourist destinations such as the Senggigi beach , the Narmada park, and the Hindu temple of Lingsar in the district of West Lombok, a museum in Mataram, and other places such as arts market centers. (*)
