Budget use must be on-target: Prabowo to ministerial candidates

Bogor District, West Java (ANTARA) - President-elect Prabowo Subianto urged his ministerial candidates to ensure the on-target utilization of the State Budget (APBN) during a briefing at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor district, West Java."The most crucial message was to ensure that the APBN is used for the people's well-being and welfare," Law and Human Rights Minister Supratman Andi Agtas told reporters after the briefing on Wednesday.

Agtas, who is expected to join Prabowo's Cabinet, informed that the President-elect also sought help from the candidates, while urging them to work in synergy to achieve the next government's vision and mission.

However, the minister was reluctant to provide details on which individuals have been assigned to which ministerial roles, saying that Prabowo will announce the Cabinet composition himself later.

Besides Agtas, other incumbent ministers in President Joko Widodo's administration also attended the briefing, including Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Airlangga Hartarto, Pratikno, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Budi Arie Setiadi, Erick Thohir, and Saifullah Yusuf.
 

Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, National Police (Polri) chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) commander, General Agus Subianto, were also present at the closed-door meeting.

Tomorrow (October 17, 2024), Prabowo is scheduled to hold a similar briefing for individuals nominated as candidates for deputy ministers and national agency heads at his residence.

The two-day briefing will serve as a follow-up to the President-elect's summons to over 100 top official candidates to his residence on Kertanegara Street, South Jakarta, on October 14 and 15.

The officials included incumbent ministers and officials, activists, academicians, celebrities, religious figures, entrepreneurs, and politicians.
