Jakarta (ANTARA) - The city of Jakarta has once again received the Child-Friendly Province (PROVILA) award from the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, marking its fourth consecutive year of recognition.
Head of the Jakarta Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control Office, Iin Mutmainnah, stated here on Saturday that this accomplishment reflects the synergy among all stakeholders who remain fully committed to fulfilling children's rights and providing protection for all children in the city.
“This award also strengthens the spirit of the Jakarta Provincial Government to continue making Jakarta not only a livable region but also a lovable one, and to become a global, child-friendly, and inclusive city,” she affirmed.
The PROVILA award recognizes provinces that demonstrate a strong commitment to creating environments that support children’s growth and development by paying attention to the fulfillment of children's rights and protection.
Earlier, the 2025 Child-Friendly City/District Award Ceremony took place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office on Friday (August 8).

On that occasion, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi stated that the Child-Friendly City/District award is a mark of appreciation for the commitment and dedication of regional heads and their teams in creating safe environments for children.
She affirmed that this commitment aligns with the constitutional mandate obligating the state to fulfill all children’s rights, provide protection, and respect their views, as regulated in the Convention on the Children's Rights, which has been ratified through various laws and regulations.

Furthermore, Fauzi noted that becoming a Child-Friendly City is a challenging process, which requires steady commitment from local leadership, policies, and integrated programs centered around children’s rights and protection.
