To this end, he affirmed that his ministry is taking several steps that can benefit production-sharing contractors and the government so that the target can be achieved.

On several occasions, Lahadalia has emphasized the importance of increasing oil lifting to achieve national energy sovereignty. He said that this is crucial because it would support economic growth and reduce Indonesia's dependence on energy imports.

The minister added that without boosting oil lifting, Indonesia would not be able to move toward energy sovereignty. He outlined that the concrete steps taken by the government to increase oil lifting and boost production have included optimizing existing oil wells, both active and idle.
