Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto praised Indonesia’s economic growth of 5.12 percent in the second quarter of 2025, calling it evidence that the nation’s economic transformation strategy is moving in the right direction.

This was conveyed during a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, according to Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi.

"The President said that this economic growth means our national transformation strategy is on the right track," Nasbi stated at a press conference at the PCO Office here on Thursday.

The President also gave special recognition to Indonesia’s continued investment performance, which has shown a consistent upward trend.

As of August 2025, investment realization had reached Rp942.9 trillion (around US$57.8 billion), nearly 50 percent of this year’s target of Rp1,900 trillion (around US$116.5 billion).

"This investment realization has created 1,259,868 jobs," Nasbi added.

The top foreign investors in Indonesia include Singapore, with US$8.8 billion, followed by Hong Kong and China, with a combined investment exceeding US$8 billion. Malaysia contributed US$1.7 billion, and Japan US$1.6 billion.

Earlier, in the fourth quarter of 2024—marking the start of Prabowo’s administration—economic growth was recorded at 5.02 percent, before declining to 4.87 percent in the first quarter of 2025.
