Jakarta (ANTARA) - The police will close several roads during the gala dinner for ASEAN Summit delegates at the Hutan Kota by Plataran restaurant in Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Senayan, on Wednesday evening (September 6, 2023).

"So, starting from 4 p.m. local time until the end of the gala dinner at the Plataran, (some road sections) will be closed until 10 p.m.," Greater Jakarta Police's director of traffic, Senior Commissioner Latif Usman, told the press here on Tuesday.

Usman informed that police will close some road sections starting from the area around Semanggi to the Senayan Roundabout. His side has prepared a traffic flow arrangement scenario for the gala dinner.

Vehicles plying from the direction of Gatot Subroto and wanting to turn left into Sudirman-Thamrin Street will be diverted through Slipi or asked to drive straight. "Likewise, (vehicles) from Sudirman-Thamrin who want to enter Semanggi will be diverted into Kuningan or to the east," Usman said.

Meanwhile, vehicles from Slipi heading to the south direction will be directed to turn left, to go to Semanggi to the north. "(They will be asked) to turn away, not stopped," he added. He appealed to the public to support the 43rd ASEAN Summit, as the regional government has issued policies on school closures and work-from-home (WFH) implementation.

"This is our work together, for our country, and we must support everything," he said.
