Mataram, W Nusa Tenggara, Aug 22 (Antara) - Denpasar`s representative office of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) has recorded growing number of investors from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) over the past several years.
The number of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) investors grew to 1,407 by the end of July from 1,034 investors two months earlier, supervisor of the BEI`s representative office for West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) I Gusti Agus Andiyasa said.
Promotion of capital market and profit from investment in the shares have attracted more investors, Agus said here on Monday .
"The number of investors grew from only 558 in the beginning in 2013 to 1,408 now," he added.
The investors live in 10 districts and cities in NTB and in Mataram alone there were 800 investors, he said.
He said improvement in economic condition especially the mining, agricultural and hotel and trade sectors also contribute to the increase in the number of investors.
He said BEI would continue to encourage more investors in NTB by educating the people and intensive socialization.
The Financial Service Authority (OJK) also is active in motivating the people to invest in share market, he said. (*)
