Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU) has said that voter data updation officers (Pantarlih) are finding it difficult to carry out data matching in some apartments.

"We have sent a letter to the Housing Office and apartment managers so the officers can be assisted," Jakarta KPU's Head of Data and Information Fahmi Zikrillah informed here on Monday.According to him, Pantarlih officers are facing issues in carrying out data matching and research (coklit) of temporary voter data (DPS) in some apartments.

Zikrillah said that the coklit process is essential in the regional election, which is held every five years, considering that the data is the KPU's benchmark for determining logistics needs.

"That way, we have asked (apartment managers) to facilitate the coklit process," he added.

His side is also coordinating with several apartment managers to allow coklit posts to be built in their apartment areas.

"We coordinated with the Daan Mogot city apartment, and they facilitated us to build a coklit service post for its residents," he said.

As of Monday, Pantarlih officers have matched the temporary data of 7.8 million voters in the five administrative areas of Jakarta, which comprise North Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and the Seribu Islands district.

Zikrillah said that as per DPS data, 8.3 million people in Jakarta are eligible to cast their vote during the simultaneous regional head election (Pilkada) on November 27, 2024.

"Until now, the Pantarlih officers around Jakarta have matched 95.18 percent of the data," he said.

He further said that he will continue to monitor the Pantarlih officers' work.
